Inhassoro is a small fishing village on the edge of the Indian Ocean overlooking the Bazaruto Archipeligo. The closest airport is 80km away in Vilanculos and it is a two hour flight from Johannesburg. The warm ocean waters are home to many species of dolphin, turtles, whale sharks, manta rays, humpback whales and the endangered du gong. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing fun filled holiday. Ideal for families and is a superb venue for weddings and celebrations.


THE TOWN

Food and beverages are available from a couple of small shops plus fresh and dry goods from the market. There is a bakery, two banks and a fuel station. Groceries, including non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages can be ordered from The Deli and delivered to the Villa/Casa before your arrival. Several beachfront restaurants serve delicious seafood, peri, peri chicken and a an array of Portuguese dishes. SIM cards are easily obtainable for Vodacom and Mcel networks. There is a government hospital and a pharmacy in Inhassoro and a private clinic in Vilanculos.

Day trips to Santa Carolina (Paradise Island), Pansy Island or Coral Gardens, deep sea fishing, beach drive to Bartholomew Dias Point, scuba diving or horse riding on the beach (in Vilanculos), take a dhow trip or just stroll along the quiet beaches.

In Addition deep water jigging can be particularly rewarding targeting Amberjack and Rosy Jobfish.

The Archipelago is pretty much a year-round fishery. Big game and heavy tackle fishing is at its best in the summer months between September to April, but sailfish peak in winter between May and September and plugging, spinning, jigging, conventional light tackle game fishing and fly fishing for an array of species is excellent all year round.

Beautiful Beach

Walking the quiet beach whilst watching the dhows go by. Take a boat charter or dhow to Paradise Island for a magical day on pristine beaches with excellent snorkeling. Go deep sea fishing and whilst waiting for a bite you will more than likely spot dolphin, turtles and even hump back whales (at certain times of the year). Buy your evening meal off the fisherman on the beach......fresh fish, crayfish calamari, crab or prawns. Take a beach drive to Bartholomew Dias point......a 30km stretch of deserted beach and have some fun in the waves. Scuba diving and horseback riding on the beach are available in the neighboring town of Vilancoulos (80km). Go for a meal out at one of the many restaurants offering delicious seafood in a delightful setting. Or just relax by the pool sipping on a cocktail of tropical fruits from the local market.
